Guests were greeted by a Private Installation of the Nosakhari Journey, from the roots to the road ahead, shown on old school television sets stacked on top of each other. This was followed by screenings of the following short films and a panel discussion moderated by Ade O’Adesina;

Akinola Davies Jr, was attending a screening of his feature film in Nigeria and was unable to attend.

The evening explored the theme of ‘Travel Well’, the title of the Nosakhari Film which closed the Festival. The panel shared from experiences of their journey into film, their family perceptions as they entered into the industry, compared to where they are today. For example, the film by Montserrat and Iraqi heritage Dumas Haddad, in collaboration with Ade O’Adesina, and a crew took 9 months to make on a limited budget, but it has since toured and gained recognition internationally.
There was encouragement to see things through to the end, even though things may look uncertain right now, or budgets are tight.
“Write your own allegory and invite people to be part of your tenure. Everyone here is a part of making that happen. It’s community and that’s why we’ve done it.”
Nosakhare Osadolor, Creative Director Nosakhari
Ade O’Adesina shared how earlier that day he was told “God doesn’t want you to do it next year.” An encouragement to take action on your dreams today.
The animated movie by Job, Joris & Marieke also resonated with him of how a film that came out of a joke of a record skipping and the people listening wondering as to whether the record skipped, or whether it was a moment in time; a firm reminder of embracing every moment of life without feeling the need to skip ahead to the next part. especially without taking action towards your dreams.
