LONDON FASHION WEEK SS26 BEGINS

London Fashion week (LFW) officially started on Thursday 18th September, presented by 1664 Blanc, returning to sponsor LFW for another year.

It is the debut season for Laura Weir who comes to the helm of the British Fashion Council as the new CEO, with fresh ideas to see the industry prosper. One such initiative was to remove the fees for member designers to show at Fashion Week, which increased the showcasing designers and organisations to 157 at time of going to press. 50 catwalk shows, 19 presentations, 4 appointments, 74 events and 25 digital activations.

Ebay will host the Endless Runway Catwalk of pre-loved looks from leading british designers including Ahluwalia.

Panel discussions on schedule include The City Wide Celebration “At Home With” series featuring Labrum London moderated by Hetty Mahlivh and Recalibrating Fashion’s Inclusivity Lens: With Purpose and Action featuring James Corbin.

BFC Newgen, in Partnership with Pull & Bear supports the very best emerging talent and aims to build global, high-end fashion brands of the future. Designers are identified by their creativity, strong design aesthetic and point of difference. The 2025/26 recipients Tolu Coker, Yaku and new to the Scheme Ewusie, join others to receive part of the total £1.2 million pot allocated by the BFC Foundation for 2024/25, to support it’s annual talent schemes.

British Vogue and Nike take over the Corner Shop beside LFW Show Space at 180 Strand.
