LONDON FASHION WEEK AW25
The London Fashion Week AW25 schedule was filled with a healthy list of Black and Black mixed heritage designers and guests attending the prestigious shows.
Catwalk Shows
Abigail Ajobi invited guests to a North London housing estate where they experienced ‘I’m British-JAPA Syndrome’..a Yoruba expression regarding Nigerian people relocating to another country in search of better economic opportunities and hope of a more prosperous life. The collection had a punk rock slant, connecting with the Camden postcode it was shown in, but also a regal Nigerian element to it, with the golden pieces used to accentuate particular looks. A reflection of Ajobi’s British and rich Nigerian heritage.

Labrum hosted a show with a twist, with a curated live music event, called the Sounds of Us at non-other than the iconic Abbey Road Studios.
Presentations
Tolu Coker, transformed the Studio 180 presentation space into a retro High Life music lounge and production studio space, where celebrity guests Adjani Salmon, Jordan, Zeze Millz and Ashley came and soaked up the atmosphere. The brightly lit studio space had mannequins for clothing and millinery, product samples and toiles ready for production. Her assistants wore lab coats for effect.

Guests entered the space and were given a passport and asked questions, to identify which biome they identify with. There was a live performance where actors played out the characters based on his family members, an area called Granddad’s workshop showing drawings of the development process, a merchandise desk where people could buy items and a Gathering Nook where people could watch an animated version of the story.
