Abigail Ajobi invited guests to a North London housing estate where they experienced ‘I’m British-JAPA Syndrome’..a Yoruba expression regarding Nigerian people relocating to another country in search of better economic opportunities and hope of a more prosperous life. The collection had a punk rock slant, connecting with the Camden postcode it was shown in, but also a regal Nigerian element to it, with the golden pieces used to accentuate particular looks. A reflection of Ajobi’s British and rich Nigerian heritage.
