Honouring 1970s Basketball legend

The Adidas Originals and Wales Bonner AW25 Capsule collection, lovingly pays homage to 1970s basketball court star, actor, writer and activist Kareem Abdul-Jabbar; an athlete who’s partnership with Adidas goes back to the 1970s.

The collection has a signature Wales Bonner vintage feel this season, with muted mauve and striking yellow tones contrasted with navy accents to add a luxury feel to your school run, autumn pursuits and time with family and friends.

The colour schemes were inspired by his former teams, Milwaukee and the LA Lakers.

Grace Wales Bonner is an award-winning British luxury designer with awards in Emerging Menswear Designer at the British Fashion Awards (2015), the LVMH Young Designer Prize (2016), Winner of the British Fashion Council/ Vogue Designer Fashion Fund (2019), CFDA International Men’s Designer of the Year (2021) and Independent British Brand at the Fashion Awards (2022) and a nomination for the 2025 British Menswear Designer of the Year.

She has collaborated with Wales Bonner has collaborated with Adidas Originals over several seasons, Anderson & Sheppard, Dior as well as selling her own luxury line online.

Adidas Originals continues to innovate luxury sportswear designed for the street, ever since the Trefoil logo was first used in 1972, to date. This is whether on their own in collaboration with designers like Wales Bonner, who lead from the front in terms of design.
